Banyan Story
It all started with a road trip through the countryside of Bangalore, India, in 2007. Founders Pragasam and Rajna, together with their four sons, discovered a majestic 400-year-old banyan tree spreading across four acres.
They spent the afternoon swinging on its aerial roots — laughing like children again. That moment sparked a realization: the Banyan Tree’s strength, growth, and resilience mirrored their dream — to create a place that would nurture and support others in their financial journey.
And so, Banyan Tree Money Academy (BTMA) was born. 🌿By 2012, the academy officially took root — built on the same values that the tree symbolizes: growth, wisdom, and strong foundations.
Why “Banyan Tree”?
A Banyan tree doesn’t just grow! It spreads and supports.
Its aerial roots reach down to the ground, forming new trunks that strengthen the entire tree.
That’s exactly how we see financial education:
